2025 Pickleball World Championships set new attendance, participation and viewership records
This year’s Pickleball World Championships set new attendance, participation and viewership records for pro pickleball, according to a PPA Tour news release.
The event — which was held earlier this month at Brookhaven Country Club in the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch — drew a combined crowd of more than 60,000 and generated more than $1.1 million in ticket and hospitality revenue.
Nearly all 50 states were represented in the amateur ranks, which saw a record 4,400 total participants, including players from 38 countries competing in more than 6,000 matches throughout the week.
Pickleballtv also saw a record 70 million minutes viewed during the 10-day event.
“We came back to Brookhaven this year in anticipation of putting on the largest, greatest event the pickleball world has ever known, and we did just that,” said PPA Tour Founder & CEO Connor Pardoe. “This was the 100th PPA event and it was a remarkable showcase of how much we have grown, with intense competition on both the pro and amateur side, and the insane crowds filling Pickleball Boulevard and Nature’s Sunshine Championship Court daily. We feel confident in saying that the 2025 edition of the Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships was the most extraordinary tournament in pro pickleball history.”
In addition to the PPA Tour tournament and Major League Pickleball Cup event that was held on the opening weekend, the Pickleball World Championships also featured the first-ever Collegiate World Championships (won by Utah Tech), junior events, an adaptive wheelchair competition, the PPA Challenger Showdown (where up-and-coming pros competed for a UPA contract) and several other events.
