The Major League Pickleball team formerly known as the Carolina Pickleball Club has officially rebranded to be the Carolina Hogs, according to the league.
The team made the announcement in an Instagram post Monday evening and unveiled the new logo, which features a red, gray, black and white hog forming the "C" in Carolina.
The team colors are similar to those of the Carolina Hurricanes, the NHL franchise owned by Tom Dundon, who also owns the Carolina Hogs.
The new name and logo has received mixed reviews by fans on social media, with some even suggesting that the rebrand could be an April Fools' Day joke. Major League Pickleball officials have assured The Kitchen that is not the case.
Carolina currently has Kaitlyn Christian, Tamaryn Emmrich, Ben Johns, Collin Johns, Liz Truluck and Brandon French on the roster.
