Pickleball in England is picking up steam. Consider this year's English Open, August 8th to 14th, which closed registration with 1,976 registered players from 42 different countries.
The OPEN features seven days of high-octane competition. Players from around the globe—including top professionals from America, Europe, and Asia—will be battling it out in singles, doubles, mixed, wheelchair, and junior events.
Competitors will range in age from just 7 years old to over 70, reflecting the sport's incredible growth and widespread appeal.
This diverse range of participants highlights pickleball’s universal accessibility but also its ability to bring together people from all walks of life.
Among the American players in attendance: Jack Munro, Rob Nunnery, Erik Lange, and Megan Fudge.
The Rise of Pickleball in the UK
Pickleball is experiencing a surge in popularity across the UK.
With over 30,000 active players and nearly 700 places to play, the sport has seen explosive growth on an island about the size of the state of Oregon.
Pickleball England reports a remarkable 41% increase in member registrations since the end of 2023, underscoring the sport’s expanding footprint.
