"A lotta people [on the pickleball court] have fire in 'em." Maybe that's why Major League Baseball's Mookie Betts says pickleball is "his jam."
The same guy who set a Dodgers record for leadoff home runs, who rolled out MVPs, World Series rings (plus a couple of 300 games in bowling) just casually dropped this gem on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.
The Dink Master Pro from Enhance has a dual-sided design, with one side dedicated to fire-fight training & another to practicing the soft game.
Betts, mic'd up during a Dodgers game, couldn't stop gushing about his love for the sport that’s sweeping the nation.
"I just go to random parks and play random people," he said, like it's no big deal. And honestly, for Mookie, it probably isn't.
We already knew Betts had that competitive fire—whether he’s bowling a perfect game or driving in runs—but pickleball seems to bring out a different side of him.
"I love the hang," he said. "You get to meet people...they get really mad, which I love."
We can't see Mookie giving up his baseball career quite yet...but if he did pull a Michael Jordan, we'd like to imagine he'd be pretty successful.
