India is in the midst of a pickleball revolution. Between 2019 and 2022, the number of players jumped by a staggering 159%.
This rapid rise isn’t happening in isolation. Globally, pickleball’s popularity has soared, with more than 5 million players across 84 countries.
As India’s enthusiasm grows, so does the infrastructure. Clubs, tournaments, and coaching programs popping up across the country.
Pickleball's Asian Expansion
India isn’t the only country in Asia with an aggressively expanding pickleball community.
China, for instance, is on the brink of a pickleball explosion. Experts project that within the next five years, the country will have over 10,000 courts and a mind-blowing 100 million players. That’s more than the population of most countries.
