Four-time Super Bowl champion tight end Rob Gronkowski will host a charity pickleball tournament later this month in Massachusetts.
The former New England Patriot and Tampa Bay Buccaneer star has partnered with the Jimmy Fund and the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation to put on the second-annual Pickleball for a Purpose tournament, which will support both adult and pediatric cancer care and research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
Teams/players who raise the most money for the nonprofits will earn the chance to play pickleball with Gronk and friends at the event.
Gronkowski has previously participated in PPA Tour celebrity exhibitions and has been playing pickleball for several years.
He has praised the sport's accessibility to people of all ages and skill levels in the past.
“That’s what makes it so great, is that it brings people together,” Gronkowski told the Boston Globe before last year's event.
This year's Pickleball for a Purpose tournament will be held May 28 at the Bosse pickleball complex in Natick.
