JOOLA releases limited-edition Chuck Taylor and Dekel Bar Perseus Pro IV paddles

JOOLA this week released a pair of custom, limited-edition paddles in collaboration with two of the company's pro players: Chuck Taylor and Dekel Bar.
The 16mm Perseus Pro IV paddles celebrate the heritage of Taylor (South Korea) and Bar (Israel). Both players have been with JOOLA for multiple years.

How Bar's Israeli roots inspire his game
Bar’s pickleball story begins in his hometown of Haifa, Israel, a scenic mountain town overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The former tennis player found the world of pickleball through longtime friends Ben and Collin Johns and immediately embraced the new sport as a challenge, turning pro in 2018.
Bar is one of the most powerful players in the sport, and has been using the Perseus Pro IV since its release earlier this year. His new signature colorway features a bold blue and white edge guard and matching colors on the paddle face.
“This colorway represents home and remembering where you come from and what you represent," Bar said. "Something that is important to remember on and off the court."

Taylor's journey from Korea to pro pickleball
One of JOOLA’s original athletes, Taylor now has his own paddle.
The special-edition colorway features a striking red, blue and white edge guard, paying tribute to the colors of Chuck’s Korean heritage. Chuck’s signature, laser-etched in Korean characters at the throat, adds a personal and cultural touch.
“I wanted to design something that connected my journey from an orphanage in Korea to competing with the world’s best on the PPA tour," Taylor said. "And now I want to see Pickleball grow even more in Korea.”
After he moved to the states, Taylor grew up near Bainbridge Island, Washington, which is where pickleball originated.
"Pickleball was part of my high school racquet sports gym class," he said. "It was the best class ever. It was years later after university that I saw pickleball again in a local rec center. The people were very welcoming and dragged me to tournaments and nationals. And I’m so grateful they did!"
The Perseus, a staple in the JOOLA lineup, was the top choice for Taylor, who values its elongated shape and generous sweet spot.
