QVC just took a big swing by signing a multiyear deal with USA Pickleball, becoming its exclusive broadcaster and retail industry partner.
The home shopping powerhouse is blending live sports with retail, all streaming under one roof.
First up on their lineup? The 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships, set to stream this November on QVC’s platform, QVC+/HSN+.
Clearly, they're attempting to merge live sports coverage with on-the-spot retail opportunities.
For QVC, it’s a calculated move. QVC/USAP cite over 5 million women aged 45+ actively swinging paddles on pickleball courts across the U.S., in line with the company's target demographic.
Stacie Tedesco, VP of Streaming at Qurate Retail Group (QVC’s parent company), tells CNBC it's a "perfect next place to go" as they continue experimenting with live events on their streaming platforms.
