Eddie Anderson has been a die-hard pickleball player since he was introduced to the sport in 2019. So when he built his house in Lakeland, Florida, in 2023, it obviously needed to include a pickleball court.

Anderson – who has played senior pro events in the past and now plays mostly with/against high-level amateurs – spared no expense in building the state-of-the-art court inside what otherwise would be the garage of the home.

Tons of pros have played and stayed at the home in the past when tournaments were hosted in the area, including: Megan Fudge, Ryler DeHeart, Jay Devilliers, Andrei Daescu, Rafa Hewett, Yuta Funemizu, Eric Oncins, Grayson Goldin, Dylan Frazier and more.

“Just because of where it’s at – between Tampa, Orlando, St. Pete, The Villages, Sarasota – we’ve made a lot of good connections with players in the area and it’s become a training hot spot for the really high-level players,” Anderson said. “A lot of pros have even lived at the house for months or weeks at a time, so we’ve had some pretty good rec games here. It’s been a blessing to see the sport grow and continue to improve at the pro level during that time.”

The house – and the epic pickleball court – could be yours, as it hit the market recently for $2.69 million. Anderson and his wife, Marina, are moving to an acreage near Lexington, Kentucky, where they are building an even better indoor pickleball barn, he said.

“This is a special house, and we really want it to go to somebody who loves pickleball like we do,” Anderson said. “When we built it, everything was designed around pickleball, and our builder couldn’t believe what we were doing. But when it’s a big part of our lives like it is, it’s so worth it. Everybody asks us now, ‘How are you leaving this place?’ but you should see the new one, which will be done in about six weeks. It’s going to be sick.”
