The United Pickleball Association of America (UPA-A), the governing body of the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball, this week announced a partnership with AED.US to bring hands-on CPR and AED training sessions to players and fans during the 2025 Pickleball World Championships in Farmers Branch, Texas.

In collaboration with GoRescue and Safe Life, these interactive sessions will teach participants how to respond confidently and effectively when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest on or around the court.

“Pickleball brings people together and that means looking out for each other,” Jason Aspes, President of UPA-A, said in a news release. “If someone goes down on court, those first few seconds can mean the difference between life and death. We want every player and fan to be ready to act.”

AED.US has been the official AED provider of the PPA Tour through its partnership with Philips and the HeartStart OnSite AED, the most widely used defibrillator in the world. Since May 2025, AED.US has provided a Philips HeartStart OnSite AED to every PPA tournament, ensuring life-saving technology is available courtside at all events.

At the conclusion of each tournament, the AED is donated to the facility, leaving behind a lasting legacy of protection.

Training with GoRescue: Turning bystanders into responders

At the Pickleball World Championships, GoRescue’s expert instructors will provide hands-on CPR and AED demonstrations, empowering attendees to become first responders when it counts most.

GoRescue, a nationally recognized leader in cardiac emergency preparedness, has trained over 72,000 individuals in 2025 alone, contributing to more than 110,000 lifesaving impacts nationwide.

With nearly 3 million Philips HeartStart AEDs sold globally, this partnership "underscores a shared commitment between UPA-A, AED.US, Safe Life, GoRescue, and Philips to make pickleball not only the fastest growing sport in America, but a safe one for everyone who participates," the release said.

The CPR and AED sessions will be offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the Pickleball World Championships, open to all registered players, coaches and fans.
