The PPA Tour is back in Florida this week for the final event of 2025: the Daytona Beach Open.

The tournament, which is being held at Pictona at Holly Hill for the fourth straight year, started Tuesday with pro qualifying and will continue through Sunday.

As an Open, the tournament offers 1,000 ranking points to the winners and will be played as a modified traditional draw. That means singles (Wednesday), mixed doubles (Thursday) and gender doubles (Friday) will be played through the quarterfinal rounds on their designated days, then the semifinal matches for all divisions will be Saturday, followed by Championship Sunday.

A few big-name players are taking the week off (Ben Johns, Hayden Patriquin, Hunter Johnson, Jack Sock, Roscoe Bellamy, Anna Bright, Kate Fahey, Brooke Buckner), which has led to some partner shuffling and several intriguing pairings. More on those partnerships below.

All of this week's matches can be viewed on Pickleballtv or the Pickleballtv App.

Here's a look at the schedule and draws for each event:

Mixed doubles

- With Ben Johns taking this week off, Anna Leigh Waters is only playing women's doubles.

- That means JW and Jorja Johnson are the top seeds and have a good opportunity to get their fourth gold medal of the year together.

- Gabe Tardio and Catherine Parenteau have announced that they will play together in 2026, so this could be the last time we see Tardio and Jessie Irvine team up. They have three medals together in 2025, but no wins -- can they go out on top?

Men's doubles

- Andrei Daescu takes the place of Johns and teams up with Tardio -- they are the No. 1 seed and have two wins together (both in 2024).

- Dallas Flash teammates JW Johnson and Augie Ge will play together for the first time on the PPA Tour.

- Federico Staksrud and Christian Alshon have played together twice in 2025, finishing second both times. Can they get a gold this week?

- Other interesting/unusual partnerships: No. 4 CJ Klinger/Jaume Martinez Vich, No. 7 Riley Newman/Noe Khlif, No. 8 Jay Devilliers/Tom Protzek, No. 9 AJ Koller/Connor Garnett.

Women's doubles

- With no Anna Bright this week, Anna Leigh Waters teams up with Jorja Johnson for the first time ever. The teenagers are the No. 1 seed and should be an entertaining watch regardless of how the experiment turns out.

- Parenteau and Tyra Black also partner for the first time as the No. 2 seed. If the seeding holds and the top teams make it to Championship Sunday, the women's doubles final will be must-see TV.

Women's singles

- With Waters, Fahey and Buckner all skipping, Kaitlyn Christian is the No. 1 seed. She's the defending champion at this event and would jump into the No. 2 spot in the women's singles points standings (ahead of Fahey) with a win.

- Lea Jansen is the No. 2 seed and has had some good results in singles lately, with two medals in her last five events (both bronze).

Men's singles

- Staksrud has reclaimed the No. 1 ranking in men's singles and is the defending champion at this event.

- Even with a couple of the top singles players out this week, it's still the deepest division of the tournament.
