The 2024 PPA Pickleball World Championships just wrapped up in Dallas, Texas, and of course The Kitchen team was there.

We were joined by a record 3,507 players, and despite early weather concerns, Sunday’s medal rounds took place under perfect skies, setting the stage for a final showdown across five electrifying pro events.

Here’s a look back at the top five moments that had us and the rest of the crowd on the edge of their seats, and what each one means as the season rolls toward its finale:

No Surprise: A New Point-of-the-Year Contender

Dekel Bar hits the ball harder than 99.99% of people in the world, but CJ Klinger somehow still got to it. In this point, CJ's get sets off a chain reaction that leads to what some have contended should be point of the year.

CJ Klinger and Quang Duong: new partners CJ Klinger and Quang Duong stunned the crowd at PPA Worlds, pulling off a decisive 11-1, 11-6 victory over the top-seeded Johns brothers in the round of 16.

Dekel Bar and Pablo Tellez: Dekel Bar and Pablo Tellez went on to take silver at PPA Worlds with a powerful performance that solidified their reputation as partners who can go deep with anyone.

Just Allyce Being Allyce

What won't Allyce Jones do to get a ball? The former volleyball player brings her dives to the pickleball court every event, so it's no surprise she put her body on the line for this Worlds point.

Allyce Jones and Tyra Black: Allyce Jones and Tyra Black fought their way to a bronze medal, proving they can disrupt top-tier teams. They were the only duo to take a game off of top performers Bright and Rohrabacher in the tournament.

Rachel Rohrabacher and Anna Bright: These two went on to upset #1-seeded Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau with surprising ease, cementing them as one of the fiercest women’s doubles pairings on the circuit.

Michael Loyd Upsets EVERYONE

Defeating Ben Johns is difficult enough. But #21 seed Michael Loyd made a statement at PPA Worlds, storming through the men’s singles bracket with upset victories over Ben, JW Johnson, and Quang Duong for a silver medal.

Watch his powerful, aggressive style in action in the above point highlight.

Dirk Cleans UP

Pro athletes, actors, and influencers stepping onto the court in a celebrity exhibition match at PPA Worlds, bringing the crowd to life and making for some truly unforgettable moments...

...Like Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki teleporting back to the 2011 NBA Finals to drop 40 on Anna Bright.
