One of the most popular paddles among pros and amateurs of the past two years — the JOOLA 3S Series — has now been re-released with new colorways and the stamp of approval from both USA Pickleball and the United Pickleball Association of America.
The 3S paddles previously were not USAP certified. The dual-certification means that amateur players can now use the 3S paddles in any tournament setting, whether that's a PPA Tour/MLP event or a USAP sanctioned event.

There are five models that have been released as dual-certified versions of the 3S Series.
They all feature JOOLA’s Propulsion Core technology and textured carbon fiber surface, delivering great power and spin potential, with added quality assurance to meet current UPA-A and USAP standards.
Hyperion 3S Dual (Buy here, $199.95)
This model features a curved top edge designed for more maneuverability. It's the current paddle of choice for JOOLA pro Vivian Glozman.
“The Hyperion 3S Dual lets me play fearless; it gives me the power to attack, the reach to control the court, and the precision to back it up," Glozman said.
Perseus 3S Dual 16mm (Buy here, $199.95)
Built for players who drive with precision but crave touch for drops and resets.
JOOLA pro John Lucian Goins, who burst onto the scene this summer with two PPA Tour singles golds, is currently using the Perseus 3S Dual.
“The Perseus 3S Dual Paddle has great control and power, both attributes that complement my game well," Goins said. "Each hit feels precise, which allows me to focus less on how to hit the ball and only think about where to hit the ball.”
Perseus 3S Dual 14mm (Buy here, $199.95)
Thinner core = more pop in hands battles at the net than its 16mm counterpart. It also has a maneuverability advantage over the 16mm version, but has slightly less "plow through" power on bigger swings like third-shot drives and overheads.
Scorpeus 3S Dual (Buy here, $199.95)
Standard paddle shape built for players who thrive on defense and strike back fast at the kitchen line. The Scorpeus 3S Dual is currently being used by JOOLA pro Rachel Rettger.
"The Scorpeus 3S Dual is my perfect match because it’s as precise and calculated as my game," Rettger said. "It gives me the control to outthink my opponents and the power to finish points, while still feeling light enough to move quickly. It lets me play my style without compromise.”
Magnus 3S Dual (Buy here, $199.95)
An elongated paddle face and a slightly shorter handle built for players with a one-handed backhand who don’t hold back on offense. That fits JOOLA pro Tyson McGuffin's game perfectly, and he's currently using the Magnus 3S Dual.
“Why change when you love old faithful? Personally, I feel like the 3S gave me more pop than the PRO IV, and it’s never lacked feel,” McGuffin said. “The hitting zone is very forgiving and overall, the paddle suits my game extremely well.”
