Watch: Trailer for new reality series gives behind-the-scenes glimpse at pro pickleball
A new reality series called “Partners” is set to be released next month, showcasing the inner-workings of pro pickleball and the players who compete on the PPA Tour.
A trailer for the show was released this week, and all indications are that “Partners” will give fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at what really goes on off the court.
The six-part series, produced by Shutterstock Studios, follows more than 25 players, coaches and executives at the center of the PPA Tour. Prominent players in the trailer include Anna Leigh Waters, Anna Bright, Parris Todd, Ben Johns, Gabe Tardio, Hayden Patriquin, Christian Alshon, Hunter Johnson and more.
The series, which premieres on May 5, will air on Prime Video in the U.S. as well as on the PPA Tour YouTube channel and PickleballTV.
“Pickleball is certainly having a moment, but most people still haven’t seen what it actually feels like inside that world,” Shutterstock Studios’ Mark Infante told Deadline. “The access we received from the Carvana PPA Tour changed everything, placing us directly within the action – close to the players, decisions and the dynamics. … We’re telling real stories that core fans will recognize immediately, and new audiences can jump in without needing a primer.”
Added PPA Tour Founder and CEO Connor Pardoe: “The Carvana PPA Tour continues to showcase professional pickleball on the world’s biggest stages, and Partners gives the world a front-row seat to everything that goes on behind the scenes – the drama, the competition, the passion and much more.”
