What makes SLAMIT electrolyte and energy drinks a perfect fit for pickleball players
When Mady Wolfe started playing pickleball competitively, she noticed that a lot of players – herself included – weren’t fully prepared from a nutrition standpoint for the long and often hot days that are common in the sport.
That led to playing great one match and being off her game the next – a frustrating cycle that many players have no doubt experienced. She was seeking answers that would help her be more consistent and win more matches on those tough tournament days that can last several hours.
With a degree in exercise science and years of experience as a collegiate athlete, Wolfe knew the key to better play wasn’t just more practice — it was smarter fueling.

So she teamed up with registered dietitian Shawn Wells – an expert in the supplement industry – to create SLAMIT, which makes science-backed electrolyte and energy drinks that are formulated to improve athletic performance.
The brand launched in January with pro players Anna Bright and Zane Navratil as founding members of the company. In the months since, thousands of players have used and benefited from the brand’s products, which have been proven to not only improve hydration, but focus and reaction time as well – two things that are extremely important in pickleball.
What sets SLAMIT products apart
While most other electrolyte products on the market use processed table salt as their main ingredient, SLAMIT uses Baja Gold Sea Salt, which is harvested by hand from the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. It’s a premium salt that includes 90 different minerals, which is key in replenishing the nutrients and minerals that are lost through sweating.
“It’s the most expensive and most nutritious salt in the world, and was very important for us to have because we wanted to make a premium product,” Wolfe said. “It’s like the difference between wheat bread and white bread. Most salt has all the good stuff taken out of it during the processing. And so we went and found salt that keeps all the minerals in it that help with actually hydrating the body.”
The two main products SLAMIT is known for are its HYRATE electrolyte mix and FOCUS energy drink.

How SLAMIT helps pro players win more matches
Wolfe said SLAMIT FOCUS is designed specifically for pickleball players, and is especially useful in competitive settings. The drink has been scientifically proven to boost performance in key areas that are crucial in the sport.
- Increased focus by +29%
- Improved reaction times by +26%
- Boosts calm energy by +25%
- Enhanced power by +14%
And because it’s paired with the same electrolytes found in the HYDRATE blend, it’s also replenishing everything that’s being lost via sweat throughout a pickleball session or match.
“Most energy drinks are terrible for you because they’re full of stimulants and artificial chemicals, but we wanted to come out with an energy drink that is actually healthy for you,” Wolfe said. “We wanted to create a product that can actually improve athletic performance, not just be like a temporary stimulating energy drink, and the data says we were successful in doing that.”

She said she knows a lot of players who rely on caffeine to stay locked in during tournament matches, but that’s counter-productive because caffeine dehydrates the body.
“That is definitely not what you want in a sporting event, especially a hot one like pickleball tends to be,” Wolfe said. “Paraxanthine is a better alternative from that perspective, and then we added in the electrolytes, so you’re really getting the best of both worlds with the FOCUS product.”
Along with Bright and Navratil, fellow pros Kyle Koszuta, John Cincola, Brandon Nsekpong and influencer Shea Underwood are also on Team SLAMIT. Wolfe said they will be making signature flavors for each of their pro athletes, the first of which was Bright’s Cherry Limeade flavor.
“Anna was really helpful in the development of the products, and has been with us since the inception of the whole idea,” Wolfe said. “And I think with the success that she’s having on the court, people are starting to realize that these products work and can truly help you play better pickleball.”

Bright, who is having her best year ever on the PPA Tour, credits her improvement in 2026 to her nutrition, training and hydration program.
“Sometimes I would lack focus on the court and lose games I should have won,” she said. “With SLAMIT I feel like I’m in the flow state and I’m winning more than ever.”
