CRBN Pickleball filed a patent infringement lawsuit this week against Vatic Pro, alleging that Vatic’s V-Sol Power pickleball paddle is in violation of a patent that CRBN has relating to its foam core technology.

CRBN co-owners Garrett Gosselin and Kyle Goguen said in a statement that they attempted to reach out to Vatic Pro directly to try to resolve the matter before going through the courts, but that effort wasn’t productive.

The company filed the lawsuit in California Central District Court on Wednesday this week.

The patent that CRBN holds — U.S. Patent No. 12,465,827 — pertains to CRBN’s TruFoam core found in the Genesis and Waves paddles that were released this year.

Both the CRBN TruFoam Genesis (released in January), and the Vatic Pro V-Sol Power (released later in the year), have cutouts in the foam core.

Vatic Pro said it would respond through the legal process.
