Just over a year after its grand opening, The Summit Pickleball facility is rallying Boone, NC, in the wake of the devastating hurricane Helene.

The Summit has put all games on hold and opened its doors (and high ceilings) as a central drop-off point for hurricane relief supplies.

When the storm tore through western North Carolina, shutting down power lines and displacing families, The Summit acted quickly.

Boxes of food, clothes, and medical supplies — turning the facility into a community lifeline and command center.

The outpouring of support has been immense, with locals flooding the facility with donations to aid neighbors in need.

Over the past week, the relief effort has transformed the courts into a well-oiled operation, providing a glimpse of the power of sport communities when they rally together.

How You Can Help

The Summit is actively sending out all of what it has received thus far.

Owners say those interested in making a donation can consiser a monetary contribution to the Boone Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
