JOOLA recently released the brand’s first full-foam pickleball paddle — the POWER FX — and after playing with it for a couple weeks, we have been surprised with how this paddle feels and performs.
The POWER FX has a stiff, crisp, hollow feel on contact, with an incredibly quick response off the face. That’s quite a bit different than how we would describe the JOOLA Pro V paddles, which have a much more plush feel.
In this video review, we break down what makes the POWER FX different, how it plays, where it fits in the JOOLA lineup and who this paddle is best for.
JOOLA POWER FX
JOOLA POWER FX construction & specs
JOOLA still used its patented Propulsion Core design in the new paddle, which has been used in several past models dating pack to 2024 (Mod TA-15, 3S, Pro IV and Pro V). The difference with the POWER FX is the core itself is made from EPP foam rather than polypropylene honeycomb, and the exterior foam surrounding the core extends slightly further down into the throat of the paddle.

These are the specs for our specific unit:
Static weight: 7.9 ounces
Swing weight: 114.5
Twist weight: 6.0
How it plays
While the POWER FX is definitely a power focused paddle, the pop off the face is what stands out the most. That makes it a great options for players who want to be aggressive at the kitchen line — it has plenty of pop on short punch volleys to put you ahead in hands battles.
That added pop can also help players who want the paddle to generate more offense for them. It does more of the work in that regard than the Pro V, which requires a bigger swing to generate more power.
At just $179.95, we think this is a really interesting option if you want a high-pop, offensive paddle without breaking the bank.

Our testing process
Our paddle reviewers (all 5.0+ players) work with other high-level players in their area to test paddles on a variety of shots. This testing involves several hours of drills and games in an effort to determine how the paddle impacts performance in real-world scenarios.
We use the Life Time LT Pro 48 pickleball for our testing.
