The PPA Challenger Series has announced the 2027 schedule, with seven new tour stops in the series’ third season.

There will be 18 events total throughout the U.S. starting in January. In 2026 the PPA Challenger Series averaged 400 players per tournament, representing all 50 U.S. states, plus Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Each tournament features amateur and pro brackets.

The series aims to “nurture emerging talent, encourage participation and ultimately elevate the sport at all levels.”

The 2027 schedule includes five 250-point tournaments, up from four in 2026, giving players more opportunities to earn valuable World Pickleball Ranking points. The top points earners will qualify for the PPA Challenger Showdown in Dallas at the end of the year, where they will compete for a PPA Tour contract.

The series is also expanding its partnership with Life Time, which hosted two PPA Challenger Series tournaments in 2026 and will host eight events in 2027.

“The 2027 PPA Challenger Series schedule is our most ambitious yet, bringing high-level pickleball to 18 unique markets across the country and giving more players, fans and communities a front-row seat to America’s fastest-growing sport,” said Tanner Groff, Vice President of PPA Challenger Series. “Our expanded partnership with Life Time is central to our schedule and together we’re pairing world-class facilities with a competitive platform that gives rising pros a clear path to the sport’s biggest stage. PPA Challenger tournaments are where the next generation proves itself, and where local players see what’s possible. As pro pickleball continues to evolve, we’re building it from the ground up; stronger pathways, better events and a sport that grows through the communities that love it.”
