The second annual Pickleball World Cup in Peru is less than a month away and already poised to set records.
The international pickleball competition produced by the Cabieses Foundation is redefining what it means to be inclusive in the sport of pickleball.
At the Pickleball World Cup, the foundation will host at least 30 wheelchair athletes—the first time this many athletes in wheelchairs have taken part in such a major event.
But this moment is just one part of the foundation’s larger vision for inclusivity and accessibility.
Earlier this year, the Cabieses Foundation made waves by organizing the first-ever pickleball clinic taught entirely in sign language.
Those who participated in that experience will now be involved in foundation-led activities throughout the tournament week.

The commitment to inclusivity extends to players with other special needs as well, ensuring that everyone, no matter their ability, has a place on the court.
On the competitive side, the Pickleball World Cup is set to be a true international battle, with over 500 athletes representing 30 countries in the Open Competition and 22 nations in the senior division.
