PPA Tour 2026 Chicago Cup: Draws, schedule and TV information
This doesn’t seem possible, but it’s somehow true: The PPA Tour has never been to Chicago.
That’s changing this week with the inaugural Chicago Cup, which is being held at Life Time North Shore Sport and Racquet in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook, Illinois.
The tournament will be played indoors, and there are several interesting partnerships and storylines that we will dive into below.
The event started Monday with pro qualifying, and main-draw matches will start on Tuesday, with one round in every division to be played each day through Championship Sunday. As a “Cup” event, there are 1,500 ranking points on the line for the winners in each division this week.

What to watch for in Chicago
Ben Johns + Jack Sock in men’s doubles: Johns’ usual partner, Gabe Tardio, isn’t playing this week, so we’re getting a surprise duo. We haven’t heard how this unlikely partnership came together, but it will be the second time Sock has played with a No. 1 player. In his first-ever PPA Tour event, he partnered with Anna Leigh Waters at the 2023 North Carolina Open — and they won gold. So Sock is looking to make it 2-for-2 when playing with top partners. They are the No. 2 seed (Hayden Patriquin/Federico Staksrud are the No. 1 seed).
Anna Leigh Waters still looking for title No. 200: Waters had a chance to become the first player to win 200 PPA Tour titles at the Las Vegas Open last week, but she and Johns lost in the mixed doubles final to Hayden Patriquin/Anna Bright. So now she’s at 199 gold medals and is playing all three divisions this week (singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles). Given that she hasn’t lost a singles match in more than 2 years, we think it’s a safe bet she’ll reach the milestone on Sunday.
Return of the Kawamotos: We haven’t seen Jackie and Jade Kawamoto since the end of the Major League Pickleball season, but they’re making their return this week. They’re the No. 5 seed in women’s doubles and will have to go through Anna Leigh Waters/Anna Bright if they want to make a deep run this week. They had two silver medals together earlier this year — at the Masters and at the Cape Coral Open.
