A few weeks ago we published a list of the best public pickleball courts in the United States — places where the vibes are good and you can seemingly always find a quality rec game. We asked experts who have been around the sport for years, as well as players in our Facebook community.

We thought it was a pretty good list and took into account several factors like location, number of courts, amenities, whether they had lights, etc. As could have been predicted, we heard from a lot of people about the many great public pickleball courts that we left off of our list.

So we put together a Part 2 that includes several great facilities we didn’t touch on the first time around.

Regardless of where you play, we continue to believe that public pickleball courts are the lifeblood of pickleball in the United States.

They’re where first-timers fall in love with the game, friendships are built, communities grow and future champions hit their first dinks. Here are the courts included in Part 2 of this series:

Brommer Street Park — Santa Cruz, California

Brommer Pickleball Courts -- Santa Cruz, California.
  • Located in the Live Oak neighborhood between Santa Cruz and Capitola.
  • Eight outdoor courts, with Santa Cruz Pickleball Club play held on Monday and Friday mornings and a modest suggested donation.
  • Permanent restrooms, water, picnic tables, a covered pavilion, playground, lawns and other sport courts make it comfortable for longer visits.

Fritz Burns Park — La Quinta, California

  • Situated in a 12-acre park near the Coachella Valley resort communities.
  • The expanded complex offers 16 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts with lights and shaded spectator seating.
  • Restrooms, picnic tables, a playground, dog park, skate park, swimming pool and public art provide plenty to do beyond pickleball.

George English Park — Fort Lauderdale, Florida

George English Park -- Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
  • Located beside scenic Middle River and close to the Intracoastal Waterway.
  • Features eight dedicated outdoor asphalt courts with permanent nets and lighting for early-morning or evening play.
  • Free access, restrooms and a broader waterfront recreation area—including a boat ramp and recreation center—make it especially convenient.

Grant Park — Chicago, Illinois

Grant Park -- Chicago, Illinois.
  • Located in downtown Chicago, offering memorable skyline views and easy access to the lakefront and Museum Campus.
  • Features 16 free, dedicated outdoor courts with permanent nets and lighting for nighttime play.
  • Its central location, public transit access and proximity to restrooms, walking paths, gardens and major downtown attractions make it ideal for residents and visitors.

Grewal Park — Pittsfield Township, Michigan

Grewal Park -- Ann Arbor, Michigan.
  • Serves the northwestern portion of Pittsfield Township and the Ann Arbor area.
  • Features three outdoor pickleball courts in a compact, newly developed neighborhood park.
  • A pavilion, playground, community garden, walking paths, sand volleyball, picnic tables, benches and bike racks make it welcoming for players and accompanying family members.

Iselin Pickleball Courts — Aspen, Colorado

Iselin Pickleball Courts -- Aspen, Colorado.
  • Located next to the Aspen Recreation Center and surrounded by excellent mountain scenery.
  • Provides four dedicated outdoor courts, with organized open play and court reservations available through Aspen Pickleball.
  • The adjacent recreation center adds convenient access to restrooms and extensive recreational facilities; the outdoor courts generally operate seven days a week during the summer season.

Lakeview Knolls Park — Maple Grove, Minnesota

Lakeview Knolls Park -- Maple Grove, Minnesota.
  • Located northwest of Minneapolis.
  • 18 dedicated outdoor concrete courts have permanent lines and nets, with free open play welcoming all levels Monday through Saturday mornings.

Luther Burbank Park — Mercer Island, Washington

  • The park’s Jake Jacobson Pickleball Courts provide eight dedicated outdoor courts with permanent nets and high-quality playing surfaces.
  • Beaches, walking trails, picnic areas, restrooms and lake views make it easy to turn a match into a full park outing.

MacKenzie Creek Park — Chula Vista, California

Mackenzie Creek Park -- San Diego, California.
  • Located within a 6.8-acre community park.
  • Features eight free, dedicated outdoor hard courts with permanent lines, nets and lighting; posted play hours are generally 7 a.m.–10 p.m.
  • Restrooms, picnic space, playgrounds, walking trails and additional basketball and tennis facilities make it a versatile recreation stop.

Manzano Mesa Pickleball Courts — Albuquerque, New Mexico

Manzano Mesa Pickleball Courts -- Albuquerque, New Mexico.
  • Located in southeast Albuquerque.
  • The expanded complex has 33 outdoor courts, including designated paddles-up rotation courts for players seeking open games.
  • Free public access, long park hours and organized open play make it a major regional pickleball hub.

Opelika Sportsplex — Opelika, Alabama

Opelika Sports Complex -- Opelika, Alabama
  • Located roughly a mile from Interstate 85 and convenient to both Opelika and Auburn.
  • The complex currently has 24 individually fenced, tournament-style courts arranged in two 12-court sections, with canopy coverage and LED lighting.
  • Players have access to ample parking, restrooms, lockers, showers and concessions at the adjacent Sportsplex, plus aquatics and fitness facilities.

Pecos Park — Phoenix, Arizona

Pecos Park -- Phoenix, Arizona
  • Located in southeast Phoenix, with easy access from the Ahwatukee area.
  • Offers 16 dedicated, lighted outdoor pickleball courts with permanent lines and nets, making it one of the region’s largest public facilities.
  • Players also benefit from restrooms, drinking fountains and a recreation center, while the surrounding park offers picnic areas, a dog park, playground, pool, splash pad and other sports facilities.

Veterans Memorial Park — Cedar Park, Texas

Veterans Memorial Park -- Cedar Park, Texas
  • Located northwest of Austin.
  • Offers eight dedicated outdoor concrete courts with permanent nets and lighting for evening play.
  • Restrooms and organized play add convenience; access may require an inexpensive annual court key, but only one member of a playing group needs one.
