The Enhance MPP Turbo was already one of our favorite power paddles, delivering incredible performance for just $99 after code “KITCHEN.” We’ve had it ranked No. 1 on our list of the best paddles under $150 since its release earlier this year.

Now Enhance is back with the MPP Turbo ArmorGrit, featuring the same powerful MPP foam core and a brand-new grit surface designed for improved durability.

In this video review, we break down what makes the MPP Turbo ArmorGrit different, how it plays and who this paddle is best for.

Enhance MPP Turbo ArmorGrit construction & specs

The inside of the MPP Turbo ArmorGrit is the same as the original MPP Turbo — a floating MPP foam core with internal weighting and an EVA foam perimeter ring designed to improve stability and forgiveness.

The face layers are also the same — a carbon fiber, fiberglass, carbon fiber (CFC) face layup designed to deliver a predictable response across the face.

The ArmorGrit starts with a peel-ply-textured carbon fiber surface and adds a durability coating over it. The goal is longer-lasting ball interaction and more durable spin performance over time.

How it plays

The MPP Turbo ArmorGrit plays very similar to the original. Because MPP is a softer foam, it creates a more springy and smooth feel than most other foam paddles on the market.

That means you get a great feel for the ball on drops, dinks and resets, while you’re also able to dial up the power when you want to. On bigger swings you can really feel the ball sinking into the paddle face and getting shot back out with a lot of pace.

The MPP Turbo ArmorGrit is also very forgiving on off-center hits. The 6.6 twist weight is very high for an elongated paddle, and the swing weight is low enough to where you can still add exterior weighted tape and make the paddle even more stable.

It keeps what made the original so good while introducing a significantly grittier surface, all without raising the price. So if you’re looking for a great power paddle without spending a fortune, this is one paddle worth considering.
