RPM Pickleball last week updated its warranty policy for the new RPM Jade paddles, expanding the coverage to include three claims over the lifetime of the paddle, up from one.

We sat down with RPM Founder James Ignatowich to talk about why he made the change and what makes the new RPM warranty policy the best in the game.

Here’s how it works:

If something goes wrong with the paddle, customers simply submit a photo or explanation to customer service, and RPM will send out a replacement. Even better, if your paddle arrives with a defect before you’ve had a chance to play with it, that replacement doesn’t count toward your three claims.

But why would a relatively new paddle company take on that kind of risk? Ignatowich explains the thinking behind the decision, the concerns his team had about potential abuse, and why he believes building customer trust is more important than protecting against every possible downside.

We also get into what’s next for RPM during the interview, including a look at the upcoming RPM Diesel paddle, which Ignatowich says is his personal favorite. Watch the full interview above or click here to watch on YouTube.
