Engage X2 widebody
Our take on the X2 Widebody
The X2 is Engage’s second full-foam offering, following the Engage Profoam that was released in 2025. The new model features a “Quad Density” foam core and a new approach to the carbon fiber face, a combination that delivered great feel and elite-level spin in our testing.

Questions people ask about the X2 Widebody
Is the Engage X2 widebody worth $259.99?
Yes, especially if resets matter to you. The widebody shape should play even better on resets than the elongated Engage X2, at the same price.
What shape is the Engage X2 widebody?
A widebody, with the same 16mm Gen 4 core as the elongated X2. It swings lighter at 110 and resists twisting more with a 7.1 twist weight, versus 120 and 6.4 for the elongated.
Does the Engage X2 widebody have good spin?
Yes. It shares the X2's Quad Density foam core and micro-weave carbon fiber face, whose thinner strands add elasticity and dwell time for elite-level spin.
Does the Engage X2 widebody need lead or tungsten tape?
Probably not. Perimeter weighting is built into the X2's construction, so it's a good option if you don't like messing with weighted tape.
Is the Engage X2 widebody USAP approved?
Yes, it's USA Pickleball approved.

How We Tested
Our paddle reviewers (all 5.0+ players) work with other high-level players in their area to test paddles on a variety of shots. This testing involves several hours of drills and games in an effort to determine how the paddle impacts performance in real-world scenarios.
We use the Life Time LT Pro 48 pickleball for our testing.
