JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm

By The Kitchen Team | Sep 18, 2026

Our take on the Perseus Pro IV

The JOOLA Pro IV series was at the top of our list for most of 2025, and it is still standing the test of time (for now).

An added section of high-density foam inside the bottom corners/throat area of the Pro IV models allows the paddle to flex more than prior models, which adds forgiveness and enhances feel, power and dwell time.

Questions people ask about the Perseus Pro IV

Why does Ben Johns play the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm?

He's been driving more third shots with it in recent tour play, and it's really easy to hit a good drive with this paddle. It suits a drive-third, drop-fifth style.

Is the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm worth $249.95?

Yes. It gets a bit more power on serves and drives than the Perseus 3S, and the squared top corners make it more stable on off-center hits.

How much power does the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm have?

High. The 16mm feels plush because the ball sinks into the face more, returning extra energy and adding spin through longer dwell time.

What is the swing weight of the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm?

118, the highest in the whole Pro IV line, with a 6.3 twist weight. It's a 16mm Gen 3 core in an elongated shape.

Is the JOOLA Ben Johns Perseus Pro IV 16mm USAP approved?

Yes, it's approved by both USA Pickleball and the UPA-A, so it's legal in any sanctioned tournament.
