With several new paddle releases in the past few weeks (and a couple new releases on the horizon), many pro players have recently switched up their equipment.

We are on-site at this week’s Pickleball World Championships, so we’ve been able to get an up-close look at what most pros have in the bag.

Below is a breakdown of exactly which paddle models are being used by the current Top 20 men and women in the PPA Tour World Pickleball Rankings, starting with the most notable recent changes.

Pros debut new Paddletek paddles

Paddletek this week released the new Bantam Jolt (power focused) and Tempest Veyra (control focused) paddles, and several pros have already put them in the bag.

Bantam Jolt: Zane Navratil, Yates Johnson (both using the elongated version).

Tempest Veyra: JW Johnson (elongated), Jorja Johnson (widebody) and Camden Chaffin (widebody).

Several players using unreleased Proton paddle

Proton also put a new paddle in the hands of pro players this week, but it hasn’t been released to the public yet. The Series One Project Bluejay features a new foam core with the brand’s unique “NanoTac” surface, which is a rubber-like material unlike anything else on the market. It’s expected to be released in the coming months.

Pablo Tellez using new Proton Series One Project Bluejay.

Pros using the Series One Project Bluejay this week include Meghan Dizon, Pablo Tellez, Rafa Hewett (for singles), Zane Ford, Travis Rettenmaier, Naomi Nguyen.

Holbrook Fuze VantaGrit sighting

We think the Holbrook Fuze VantaGrit is one of the best new releases, and Holbrook pro Michael Loyd put it into play this week.

It features the same “dual-density” foam core of the original Fuze and added a new grit surface that generates elite spin and is designed to hold up over time. The added grit also softens the pop coming off the paddle face, delivering more overall control than the original Fuze.

Rachel Rohrabacher using unreleased Friday paddle

Friday Pickleball recently had a new model added to the UPA-A list of approved paddles: The Aura Pro Tour.

We don’t know much about this paddle right now, but Rachel Rohrabacher has a custom version called the Rohra and she immediately put it into play this week — that’s a good sign.
