The best widebody pickleball paddles

Many people (us included) were asking RPM for a widebody version of the Friction Pro V2, and they delivered with a paddle that plays as good as it looks. The pink colorway is a collaboration with rising junior player Ella Oh, and both the 14mm and 16mm models deliver great stability and maneuverability while maintaining the elite power that the V2 has become known for. The 14mm model delivers slightly more pop in hands battles at the net.

The Proton Project Peacock widebody is one of our favorite paddles for doubles, especially the 13mm version. It has a very low swingweight of 105 and great pop at the kitchen line, which is a deadly combo in hands battles at the net.

The Enhance MPP Turbo widebody has one of the highest twist weights of any paddle we've tested (7.2), which gives it great stability on off-center hits. MPP is also a softer foam, which creates a more springy and smooth feel than the EPP Turbo models and many other full-foam paddles on the market.

JOOLA has introduced a new “KineticFrame” in its new Pro V models, which was inspired by kick-point engineering in hockey sticks and golf clubs.

The KineticFrame is built to flex and recover during impact, and unlike prior paddles with a “diving board” neck flex, the KineticFrame uses a proprietary flex-point architecture that allows the paddle head to move parallel to its original position.

The dual-pivot design produces a motion that JOOLA engineers say delivers:

– Predictable & repeatable exit trajectory.
– Precise power (ie. the more you put in, the more you get out).

This paddle comes in two thicknesses — 14mm and 16mm — and both are very solid. The 14mm version offers slightly more pop and power, while the 16mm version offers a very stable and consistent feel.

This is probably one of the least popular Honolulu paddles, but it is still a very good widebody option. The CR series features an intricate core design with multiple layers and cutouts that allows the paddle to absorb and transfer energy to the ball in a more controlled way. It has a noticeable "pocketing" effect on contact, which makes it a breeze to shape the ball on shots from the baseline and flicks out of the air at the kitchen line.

The Omni prioritizes feel and controllability over raw power and features removable/repositionable weights that let you customize swing weight, stability and power in seconds without tungsten tape or tools. Combined with Selkirk’s Infinigrit Surface and new core construction, this feels like a very different direction from the Boomstik, and honestly one that we think will fit most players better.

With the release of the Power 2 Series, 11SIX24 introduced a new grit technology called “HexGrit.” The paddle face is very gritty to the touch, and the brand claims the HexGrit is more durable than raw carbon fiber and other grit technologies on the market. The Pegasus model is very fast in the hand and also has a top-tier twist weight (7.2), making it very stable on drops and resets.

Collin Johns is a great example of a player whose game is well-suited to a widebody paddle. He's a reset machine and this paddle is perfect for that play style, with great stability and control while also maintaining good power when you have an opportunity to be aggressive.
